Brother to Brother Mentoring Program has been experiencing unprecedented growth over the last four (4) years.  In addition to the original Brother to Brother program for 6th to 12 grades started 12 years ago, we’ve added the Little Brother to Brother program in six (6) Montclair elementary schools between 2015 and 2019.  In order to continue to serve the young men during the pandemic we went to virtual mentoring sessions.  This expansion is a testament to our success in bringing a much-needed mentoring program to the youth of Montclair.  We are an organization that is dedicated to making sure that our students have the tools they need to succeed academically and professionally.

We would not be where we are today without the dedication and hard work of our mentors, and of course the government grants and individual donations that keep our program humming.  However, as you well know grants are not guaranteed income.  We must apply every year.   With our growth, year over year, the need has never been greater.

Your support, this year, would allow us to continue to develop, offer and present the kinds of programs that build self-awareness, instill a value for education, and an internal push in our young men to strive for excellence.  We have coordinated college visits, museum tours, visits to the Statue of Liberty and New York Stock Exchange, the introduction to auto mechanics and engineering facilities, and tickets to performances at NJPAC, Seton Hall basketball games, bowling, and so much more.  We don’t want to cut our program offerings, we want to continue to expand, but we cannot do it without the generosity of others, like yourself.  A donation no matter how small is a help.

Our program is “staffed” by 7 volunteers.  The mentors, who are:   teachers, from the armed services and corporate america, police officers, a retired fire chief, entrepreneurs, etc., act as role models and give tirelessly of their time and knowledge in the development of programs and provide a nurturing environment where the young men can grow academically and socially.  Our goal is to empower them with the essential skill that they can take into the workplace, into college, and out into the community.

Thank you in advance for choosing to support Brother to Brother, and for helping to ensure we continue to grow and thrive for the youth in our community.  With your donation, we can increase the amount of each scholarship awarded to our graduating seniors.
